Attorney Rafael De La Garza is a Board Certified Criminal Law Specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His experience spans complex Federal Drug cases, Federal Gang cases, and Death Penalty cases. A former Assistant U.S. Attorney and a Assistant District Attorney for Dallas County, he has handled over 500 Federal cases, including more than 25 Federal Jury Trials and over 250 State Jury Trials.

Attorney De La Garza represents individual and corporate clients during all stages of federal or state court proceedings, as well as post-conviction relief matters. A 2008 graduate of the prestigious Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming, he is also a frequent guest speaker and invited panelist at legal symposiums and panels across North Texas. He routinely handles complex legal matters in federal courts across Texas and the country, as well as misdemeanors and felonies in state court. His federal casework includes representation in numerous states, including Indiana, Florida, Illinois, Tennessee, Mississippi, Kansas, and New Mexico.

After earning his B.S. from Texas A&M University in 1986, Mr. De La Garza obtained his J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1993 and was licensed to practice law in Texas the following year. His exemplary legal career and dedication to clients earned him recognition as a distinguished Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation in 2009. He maintains active memberships with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Collin County Bar Association, and the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
